Dr. Matthew Galea Debono started his law practice following the successful defence of his LL.D. Thesis at the University of the Malta titled “The Legal Protection of Video Games”. He subsequently read for an LL.M. in Computer and Communications Law at Queen Mary University of London where he produced two dissertations, one relating to data protection laws in the video game sector and another analysing EU consumer protection law in the context of the purchase of online digital goods.

Today he practices in various areas of law, taking a particular interest in the areas of Data Protection Law, Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Law, Blockchain, Civil Law, Commercial Law.

Matthew speaks fluent English, Maltese and Italian

Dr. Richard Galea Debono graduated as a Doctor of laws from the University of Malta in 1977. He worked in industry for a short while before entering legal practice on a full-time basis. He subsequently served three years as Chairman of the board of Telemalta Corporation, at the time, the State-owned telecommunications monopoly. He has since served as chairman on various appeals boards and professional warranting boards. Has been a licenced arbitrator since the year 2001.

His main areas of practice are Contract and Tort law, General Commercial law and specifically Insurance law, Company law, in particular insolvency law, and Litigation in the mentioned areas of expertise.
